Reading assignment and practice problems (Fractals)
Contemporary Math Section 2 T/Th 10am - Fall 2024
In this chapter we will talk about Fractal geometry, which is quite different from the usual topics of Euclidean geometry. We will demonstrate the construction and properties of a few basic fractals, and also discuss how these are related to fractal-like structures that occur in nature.
Read: Chapter 6 Fractals on pages 173-192. (We are skipping Fractal Dimension Section 6.5.)
Do: Practice problems after Chapter 6: 1, 5, 9 -31 odd (beginning on page 197). These problems do not need to be turned in, but should be done for practice before doing the Online homework.
