How do I get in touch with my professor?

How quickly will I hear back?

Within 24–48 hours on business days (Monday–Friday). If it has been longer than that, email me again — it means something went astray.

What if I am struggling with the material?

Do not wait. Reaching out in week 2 is a different conversation from reaching out in week 10.
Book a one-on-one during student hours.
Use the Student Resources page — tutoring, Desmos, Khan Academy and more.
Post in the Question Quest Board — if you are wondering, someone else is too.

How do I find my homework?

Everything routes through the Weekly Learning Portal. Open the week, click the Day, and the day page lists exactly what to watch, read and submit.
Canvas's own To-Do list and dashboard also show what is coming due.
New material posts Tuesday and Thursday. Online homework is due the Monday after the week it was assigned; written homework is due Wednesdays.

How do I request a WebAssign extension?

How do I submit written assignment?

Open the assignment in Canvas and print it.
Write your solutions in the space provided.
Scan the finished assignment as a single PDF.
Click "Submit Assignment", upload the file, and click "Submit".
Check that you see the confirmation — an upload that did not finish looks the same as one that did until you look.

When are the exams, and how do they work?

All exams are paper and pencil, proctored in person, and you have two hours for each.
Exam 1: October 2–October 7 — Chapter 1 functions and Chapter 8 sequences and series.
Exam 2: November 6–November 11 — Chapters 4 and 5, trigonometry.
Exam 3: November 30–December 4 — Chapter 2 polynomials and rational functions, Chapter 3 exponentials and logarithms.
Final Exam: December 9–December 10 — cumulative, and it also covers the Chapter 9 conic sections from Days 24–25. It is mandatory to pass the class with any grade.
Each date range is the window in which you book your seat, not the length of the exam. Book early — the good slots go first.

How should I prepare?

Each exam has an Exam Info and Materials page with a study guide and the exact rules for that exam.
A WebAssign practice exam is posted before each one. Take it twice: once with your notes, then again timed and without them.
Build a one-page summary sheet. You will not be allowed to use it, but making it is most of the studying.
