💬 Getting Help & Communication

How do I get in touch with my professor?
  • Emailcsizemore@clcillinois.edu (best way to reach me; always use your CLC email)
  • Canvas Inbox — click Inbox in the left nav, then “Compose Message”
  • Zoom office hours — Mondays 11am–12pm; link on the Home Page
  • Phone — 847-543-2906 during office hours only
How quickly will I receive a response?

Expect a response within 24–48 hours on business days (Monday–Friday). If you don’t hear back after 48 hours on a weekday, please email again — it may have been missed.

What if I’m struggling with the material?

Don’t wait — reach out early. The fastest paths to help:

  • Email me with the specific problem or concept you’re stuck on — the more specific, the faster I can help.
  • Visit the CLC Tutoring Center — free, online or in person.
  • Post on the Question Quest Board — classmates and I both watch it.
  • Join Zoom office hours on Monday mornings, or email to set up a different time.

📚 Course Materials & Daily Work

Where do I find today’s lesson?

Open the Course Calendar from the Home Page — it shows every day of the term with the lesson, videos, reading, and the homework that’s due. Click any day to open its page.

How do I access homework?
  • Open the Course Calendar and click on the day you want.
  • Each day page has the Submit HW link in the To-Do section at the top — it opens MyOpenMath in a new tab.
  • You can also see upcoming work on your Canvas To-Do list (right sidebar) or Canvas Dashboard.
How do I access MyOpenMath?

MyOpenMath is built into Canvas — you don’t need a separate account. Just click any Submit HW link on a day page, and MyOpenMath opens automatically (signed in as you). If you see a sign-in screen, contact me right away.

How do I submit written homework (Check-in assinments)?
  1. Open the written HW assignment in Canvas.
  2. Print the assignment and write your solutions in the space provided.
  3. Scan your completed pages as a single PDF.
  4. Click Submit Assignment and upload your PDF.
  5. Click Submit — you’ll see a confirmation message.
  6. Always check that your submission went through.
